Comment on 3rd Journal Mia

Really good journal! I like how you describe how you would feel in her situation and you describe what happens very well! I agree that Leelee was making fun of her! And I also agree with the statemnet that many of her friends look at them through their mothers eyes, but Baby has to look at herself through her own eyes. And me neither I would never strip in front of other children, I thought it would be kind of weird, that they have games like that and not funny and normal games. I felt so bad for her when i read it, but it also made me think about that what she is willing to do for love and how alone she is and she cant really loose something anymore.

Alright,so Baby growns closer and gloser to Alphonse,he somewhat tells her,he is attracted to her,and wants only her,despite having other girls.
Baby quickly falls for it.
At home with Jules,they still argue,and Baby eate dinner,on the street,
Leelee,one of Alphonses' girls,starts speaking to Baby(So emberassing,I felt Baby was vulnerable,alsmost in danger)
Leelee goes on to say that Alphonse really feels for her,and tells baby about this girl,Robin,Alphonse used to go out with,she aso says Baby is best for Alphonse,
(I agree with Baby,I feel like she was making fun of Baby)
So she walks away,(Would have been best earlyer,but glad she walked away)
Baby quickly hears about "world driendship day",run by the community centre,she regrets leaving it,so she heads to a movie with Alphonse,where they get use weed,and alphonse starts saying hes been selling drugs since he was young.
Baby feels she trusts him,and almsot like she wants to be taken advantage of.
They get drunk together and end up sharing a kiss( :( Never good...espcially since they smoked another joint after)
Baby comes home to find Jules,celebrating her birthday, Baby is ashamned,(I would be crying and freaking out,)
She does her best to hide it.
Baby explains she feels many children she knows,can get the privaledge of looking at themselves throught their mothers eyes,she can only look through her own,(I find it sad,because not ahving either parents appart of your life is always though,Especialy since Baby is even afraid to look at herself)
She says Alphonse is somewhat a mother figure to him,(I don't think the sense of security she feels from bim is genuin tho..)
Jules eventually accuses her of sleeping with a pimp and kicks her out(Not a good way to deal with anything..)
Baby feels awful and low at this point,and is brought to a correctional facility,
She is terified of the place,some of the chilkdren there do odd things,such as eating pages of a book,or taking snails off shells.
Baby feels she can recieve affection from a socila worker who cut hair and the nurse,but the rest of the staff is almost affectionless. ( hard to be deprived of affection,I bet any child there is willing to go far for it,thats sad)
Baby Eventually lossing a game,and strips in front of the other children(I would be terrified,I could never do it,)
About a moth later,Jules and Lester arrive to pick baby up...
(Wonder where that will go..)

I was also afraid when Jules started accusing Baby of what she didn't do,if my dad accused me of doing drugs and even to the point of following me down the street, with no real reason, I would be very hurt and scared, that would show me that my dad dosen't trust me or even really know me.
Baby at the same time has to realize that,Heroin,for Jules, has almost become his lifestyle and his normal so quitting for him is almost like being in a totally new world.I can understand Jules feeling upset,confused,lost,peranoid,his "normal",is gone,so its not easy for either of them.
Theo and Baby become friends, Baby feels for him because his mother isn't the friendlyest person.
I feel that the reason why Theo acts so mean is because hes looking for love,attention and security,because he lacks that at home.
Baby somewhat matures in her decission making, but not in a good way.
Like she goes from hearing about bad things such as stealing,drugs(ect) to actualy doing them for instance,she and Theo decide to steal from Lauren's home, and Baby also realizes that when she is high,she herself,changes,and so do the people around her,(her perspective,he ability fo focus,the way people look or speak to her)
Baby later meets a pimp,named Alphonse, I (think hes a ginger )with big blue eyes,he also uses heroin,along with weed.
Baby is impressed with Alphonse,she wants him to love her,and care about her,so they get drunk together and share a kiss.
Alphonse gives Baby knee socks,Baby likes them and wears them every day,until Jules finds them and rips them up.
( I feel for Baby,because she can't speak to her dad,he isn't there to help her,support her or protect her,he is very absent for many reasons, Baby is almost alone to raise herself and somone like Alphonse being an influence to her isn't good)

3rd Journal, Lotte
Baby moves from Mary´s house to Jules and Jules is back from rehab. He has changed and he accuses her to take drugs everytime and he is very mistrusting. I was scared for her, because if my dad would accuse me things I didnt do and would never do I would be mad at him and dissapointed and confused, because she is 12 and maybe she doesnt understand what drugs do with your body and how rehab changes the body and the bahavement. He screams at her when her new friend Lauren is at her house and they are eating dinner. Baby hoped finally to find nice friends and hang out with them and just have fun and be a happy child, but after that it is done, because Lauren tells everybody and they tease baby and so she is a lonely child at her school. But she gets closer to Theo and they got like best friends. I think they are similar in a way, because their familys have some sort of problems, Theos mum punches him and she screams at him and Baby´s father is heroin addicted and he sometimes does weird things. Theo and her go in Laurens house and steal things, that is not a good way to manage things and Theo has a big knife, but they dont know it better. Baby takes drugs, when she is stoned, she smiles and she notices that people look at her differently and that people act different. Also she wants to be loved by Alphonse who is a pimp with a specail style and Baby likes how he dresses. He has blue eyes and he impresses Baby. When he gave her knee socks Baby wears them everyday and one time she forgets she wore them and Jules see them and tell her she is a whore and he want never see them again and put them in the garbage. Baby gets drunk too with Alphonse and they kiss. I think at that point she is not a child anymore and Jules will never love her as the cute kid she was before. And I also think that Alphonse is the first person who is older than her and gives her compliments she think are true. He plays up to her. She tells him all her life story, because she trust him. She doesnt go to the Community Center anymore, because she decided to be friends with Theo. - Lotte

Comment on Journal 2 Mia
I really like your journal entry. I think you described pretty well what happened so far. Maybe you could write your own opinion a little more. Also you said Felix lived in a foster home, but she lived at Marys house, so you mixed something up I guess but its okay:) And its the same with me I was surprised why Baby didnt do anything to not have dinner with Lauren and Jules. Because I thought she would care a lot about her, because she was the first real friend of her and im sure she was sad, that she wont hang out with her anymore, and she could have prevented it from happening. And I totally agree with you when you are saying She feels when someone is young you dont know you need what your parents dont have.

Journal #2. Mia,
Okay so baby goes back to her dads place,and alsmot immediatly tension is in the air.
(What a great way to be when moving back with a parent :/)
Poor Felix was confused by Baby moving, It must be hard to live in a foster home because you can never be sure who is living in your home and I think that affected Felix's sense of security and trust.
Jules had lost a lot of weight, and coughed worse and worse as the days went on.
Jules refused to take his medicne for TB(Great example for Baby that it..) So his behavior was a bit...odd.
Jules was very untrusting and always had a complaint wether it was accusing baby of drugs or arguing with neighbors over cooking.
Fall was now upon them and Baby and Jules had moved to the first building she had ever lived in with many trees around.
(So much moving,must not be good for school,wonder how her marks were affected..)
So Baby heads out to a new school,and hopes she will make friends and have a good time.
She becomes friends with a girl named,Lauren,and quickly becomes comfortable.
Shortly after,Jules found Lauren and Baby speaking and invited Lauren for dinner,(I would have been terrified, beyound words,ready to scream and lose it,I'm surprised baby didn't say anything to stop her from having dinner with her and Jules)
So Jules,as my fear was comfrmed, didn't help,at all.
He gets drunk and starts speaking,quickyl Lauren leaves.
All throught school,Baby just hears insult after insult.
She find out about a community centre close to her home and decides to go check it out.
Along the way she meets a ginger,Theo,no one seems to like,because he acts like such a loser.
Theo does a lot for attention,not always the best choices.
Baby later finds he does this because his mother is very violent towards him and he wants approval.
Theo ends up breaking Babys arm,and shortly after is placed in foster care(I feel for him,it must be so hard and awful to be placed in foster care,even after abuse.)
Soon Baby heard about a boy named Alphonse, a pimp,with dark red hair and big blue eyes,Baby is desperate for his attention,soon Baby tryes weed,despite not liking the smell,she begins to enjoy it.
She eventually recives,knee socks,Jules finds them and ripes them off and Baby recives a black eye. (I understand him being upset)
(Baby describes felling free,happy and complelty un-insecure when she is high,poor child,it must have hurt her hard when the drugs wore off,I think her dad not being there to set many,resonable boundries,added to her drug use.)
Alphonse and Baby quickly grow closer and shotgun,Baby realizes the adults in her life treat her differently when she is high.
Baby somehwat becomes dependant on drugs and Alphonse,she feels when someone is young,you don't know you need (or even want) what your parents don't have.
